Aloha, and welcome to the STEMworks Lending Library!
STEMworks offers helpful resources for Hawai‘i K-12 educators through our STEMworks Lending Library.
Our technology tools – which include laptops, Macbooks, iPads, microscopes and more – enables students to conduct research, complete high level technical projects, and to have new mediums to explore career pathways (and have a fun time while doing it!)
We also provide a variety of plug ‘n play curriculum kits that are perfect for an individual, group, or classroom learning setting. Our breadth of curriculum kits correspond to a majority of CTE fields, and are built in-house with cultural awareness and connection first.
How do I use the online Lending Library platform?
If you want to browse our catalog to find new items for your classroom, you can go to the upper left hand corner of the screen and click the Inventory button. We have over 800 items, which can be overwhelming! But you can sort them by category, or type in a general topic (such as Energy) into the Search Within bar or Search Inventory bar.
If you already have an item in mind, you can find it by navigating to the upper right hand corner of the screen, and typing the item name into the Search Inventory bar. (Note, if you are trying to find an item used in a STEMworks Curriculum: Search the name of the specific item you're looking for, not the name of the curriculum)
How can I check out items?
In order to check out items, you have to have an active Lending Library account. Not to fret, it's free to sign up if you are a Hawaii based K-12 educator! Just navigate to the very upper right hand corner of your screen, and click the Create Account button. Once you've filled out your information and submitted, you'll have to wait for us to review your application and approve your account. Please allow 1-2 business days for this process.
If you already have an account, please navigate to the very upper left hand corner of your screen, and click the Log In button. You can then follow the directions in the above section to find an item you would like to check out.
Once you've found the items you want, you can reserve them through the item page! Just make sure you're logged into your account. There might be some supplies mentioned that aren't on the platform, that you might need for a specific project - small items like conductive tape, ballpoint pens, or LED lights. Feel free to include those as a note on the order, or include it as an email to stem@medb.org.
Please give us at least a 2 weeks notice for rentals, to allow for processing and shipping time. Feel free to email STEMworks at stem@medb.org if you have any questions, or would rather directly coordinate a loan with us.
